STATEWIDE – The House of Blues in Cleveland played host to a fundraising event benefiting one of the state’s administrations on Tuesday despite said seat holder having reached his term limit.
Attorney General Dave Yost took to the stage on Tuesday night to play with band We Fight Giants at the Cleveland House of Blues, but the event was more than just a curtain call for his career as attorney general.
According to a social media post from the Cuyahoga County Republican Party, the event was a fundraiser for the sitting attorney general, despite Yost being ineligible to run again due to hitting his term limit.
A source with knowledge of the situation claims that Yost is actually raising money for a planned run at the Governorship and will be facing off against other establishment darlings such as Jon Husted.
“Yo Yost! Incredibly fun fundraiser for Dave Yost Attorney General! Proud to support you and keep up the great work!” the post from Cuyahoga County Republicans said.
While Yost has previously given indications of his desire to run for the high chair, it would seem the race to raise funds is now off.
The Ohio Roundtable will continue to monitor the situation as it develops.
