Residents of Ohio’s 17th District are looking down the barrel of a battlefield as the race for their representative seat becomes highly contested.
Sources close to the situation say that two potential candidates are entering the fray for the seat that Tom Patton currently occupies. Now that Patton has reached his term limit, Strongsville City Council member Gordon Short has decided to move in. In addition to Short, sources say that Jonah Schultz, former candidate for Ohio’s 7th District, will also be running for the same position.
Schultz previously ran against Max Miller for Ohio’s 7th District, where he lost with 13.9 percent of the vote against Miller’s 71.8 percent.
While some outside of Strongsville may not know Gordon Short by policy, some may be aware of his politics. Short has previously donated to house republican Anthony Gonzalez after Gonzalez voted to impeach former president Donald Trump as confirmed by FEC filings.
Residents of Ohio’s 17th District will have to decide who they favor in the upcoming election.
